The Purpose and the Promise

We believe that we have received a very clear and concise mission from our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ. That mission is found in Matthew 28:18-20.

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Therefore, we believe our Purpose is to make disciples/followers of Jesus Christ. We do this as we go to all nations teaching them to obey and baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit for the ultimate glory of God. As we carry out this mission we carry the Promise of Immanuel (which means God with Us). 

At IBC we engage in this mission through our Discipleship Plan.
